One of the biggest myths of applying a sheet mask is it that applying it for long will give better results. This can actually have a negative effect on your skin. Most of the sheet masks come with directions, which suggest how long they should be applied. The time range of almost every sheet mask is between 15 to 20 minutes.
Applying sheet masks for more than that can cause a reverse effect, as the sheet will start soaking in the moisture and essence from the skin. Once you feel the sheet is getting dry, then it’s the best time to remove it. After removing the sheet mask, you don’t need to wash your face as you will let go of all the essence. Just, pat on the essence left and let it soak in.
If the essence left on the skin is too sticky, then you can simply use a tissue paper and gently tap to absorb the extra essence.
